  1. Visit https://www.thetrainline.com/trains/great-britain/railcards
  2. Select your Railcard type
  3. Click Buy option (Either 3-year or 1-year)
  4. Enter the cardholder name and date of birth and age proof id number
  5. Make the payment online and buy

What is Digital Rail Card?

Digital Railcard is Railcard stored on your smartphone or tablet through the Trainline app. That means no need to carry the physical card with you. You can store them on any compatible device you travel with – there’s no limit to the number of devices you can have your digital railcard on – and they can be used more quickly than paper railcards because they don’t have to be sent in the post.

The minimum operating system (OS) for your Railcard is iOS 13.4 and above or Lollipop on Android. No device limitations or download codes required.

How to use a digital Railcard?

  • When searching for tickets on Trainline website or in Trainline app, tap ‘add a Railcard’
  • Scroll down to select the type of Railcard you’ve bought from the list
  • They automatically apply your Railcard savings and show you the discounted price
  • Book your train tickets as a digital ticket, or to be collected at the station
  • Bring the device your digital Railcard and train tickets are stored on to show to a ticket inspector if asked

Is digital Railcard refundable?

  • A digital Railcard is non-refundable once you’ve purchased
